March is national reading month
Sheriff Washington and Undersheriff Jaafar have been spending as many moments as they can this month reading to elementary and middle school children across Wayne County. Here you see Undersheriff Jaafar reading “Bad Kitty” to 5th graders at River Oaks Middle School. Sheriff Washington said several children at the elementary schools he has been visiting even said they wanted to become Sheriff Deputies! Both said they wished they could do this every day.
