One Man’s Overtime, A WCSO K-9’s Lifeline
When our K-9 unit got the call from Tom Sperling, we were overwhelmed by his kindness. Tom works at the Ford Rouge plant as a skilled tradesman and donates all his overtime pay to outfitting police dogs with needed ballistic vests. These vests are expensive. Depending on the model chosen, prices range from $1200 to $1600. Tom already donated his overtime pay to outfit our K-9 Gunnar with a vest last year. This year, he offered to buy K-9 Zuko a vest. He is a true dog lover who is passionate about keeping these K-9 officers safe. He came to see Zuko get fitted with his new state-of-the-art vest.
