Sheriff Raphael Washington and members of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office welcomed 15 new members to the agency during its Promotions & Jailers’ Training Graduation in December 2021. The ceremony marked the end of seven weeks of classroom instruction and testing along with physical and mental health training, custody and security, and use of force training. After completing the 160-hour program, these students showed they have what it takes to proudly serve the people of Wayne County: “Congratulations to the hard-working men and women joining our great agency,” said Sheriff Washington. “We look forward to adding many more graduates to our ranks in 2022.”
