Safe on the Water: The WCSO to focus on education and prevention with newer boaters
BOAT SMART! Since the Covid-19 pandemic left so many of us stuck at home and away from family and friends, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has, understandably, seen more and more people out on the water trying to let loose and enjoy themselves. “We’re seeing many more first-time boaters and Jet Skiers out on the water,” said Sheriff Raphael Washington. “We’re also seeing substantially more younger boaters than in years past. We all know a fun day out on the water can change in a second, so we want to do our best to make sure everyone is prepared. Let’s have a great summer on the water!” Check out our Boating Safety Course here: WCSO Marine Division BOATING SAFETY COURSE | Sheriff Connect
